Anyone looking for a lawn mower could do a lot worse then purchasing a Craftsman lawn mower. Make sure you change the oil annually. This protects the engine and leeps your craftsman lawn mower running for a long time. Always use clean gas and use preserving gas antifreeze if you are going to store your Craftsman lawn mower over the winter. Other than that, you really do not have to do much more with your Craftsman lawn mower to keep it going. I have sharpend the blade once a year as well. One safety precaution is that you should always disconnect the spark plug wire on your Craftsman lawn mower before doing nay work on it. Also if your blade become bent at all from hitting stones or tree roots, replace it with a new one. The off balanced blade will cause the bearings in your enging to wear out and a Craftsman lawn mower blade is not very expensive compared to buying a new lawn mower.
